Sacrificing the 98%

The current State Superintendent isn’t working to improve public education—she’s working to privatize it.
She is actively defunding public schools. Under her watch, millions of public dollars will be funneled into private institutions that serve less than 2% of our students.
So, what does that mean for public education?
Teachers will lose their jobs
Special education services will be slashed
Class sizes will grow
Schools will close and consolidate due to declining enrollment
This is what another Ellen Weaver term will look like!
No matter what title I may earn—I will always be a teacher first. I’ve seen the power of librarians who instill the joy of reading. I’ve worked with special education teachers, paraeducators, and students to ensure they had the resources and dignity they deserve.
I believe in every child’s right to learn—whether they live in a rural community, identify as LGBTQ+, receive special education services, or come from another country.
Every child deserves a high-quality, free public education. And every child deserves to feel seen, safe, and supported.
Our kids deserve better. Our educators on the front lines deserve better.
I didn’t earn my first master’s degree in six months—it took me two years. I spent 18 years in the classroom, so I know what it is like to be in the trenches!
As your next State Superintendent of Education, I will continue to work with all stakeholders as we reimagine and rebuild public education in South Carolina.
I am here to serve our teachers, students, and families.
We cannot just rally. We must VOTE.
We can no longer afford to sit on the sidelines. We must use our voices at the ballot box!
Together, we can deliver what every child deserves: access to a free, high-quality public education.
Keep moving forward and fighting for what's right for our children.
